If a reader is going to interpret anything other than breathless praise as a pan, that’s on them. They simply are not very intelligent and clearly have no interest in, you know, reading a thoughtful review. Second, the amount of music that comes out has skyrocketed in the past decade, and so yeah — a lot of it totally sucks. They can’t be all geniuses. You don’t get a round of applause just for showing up.
